For me, philanthropy and accountably go hand in hand. I've been so blessed in my life that there is a sense of responsibly from my side to give to others. I may not know a ton of scripture, but I do know that giving in the name of Jesus speaks volumes. I like to think of Philanthropy as a sequence of events where I'm doing my best to do God's will to fill a need. First it's identifying the how I can help and getting in front of the right people. Secondly I ask God to tell me what to say or what encouraging message to deliver through the giving. Finally, I always like to let them know that I'm only a vessel for the philanthropy but that the true source is God, not myself. Philanthropy is never simply allocating resources in a particular direction, but always being mindful that generosity has a loud message attached to it and I get to use it to tell the message of God's love for all people.
